Temperature wise, it might be the coldest!! When I did the Half Marathon for White Rock last December, I recall lining up and waiting in 42 degree temps for 45 minutes for the start gun; shaking from anxiety, adrenaline, and just from being freaking cold. December is historically cold in north Texas! I’m about to suck it up and freeze my butt off again for this year’s race. I must be nuts!
I discovered a marathon that I would so LOVE to run, and in my opinion has got the be the coolest most kick-ass one out there. The 2011 Rock’n’Roll Las Vegas Marathon and Half-Marathon will start late afternoon, and then will be finishing at NIGHT on the strip! This sounds so bad ass, that I can hardly contain myself! Problem is, it is on the SAME date as White Rock!!

Tell me that this would NOT be just the funnest damn event to participate in!!
Since I am a former patient at Scottish Rite Hospital, I feel more obligated to make my first full marathon a race that raises funds for them.
Oh well, guess I can do RnR Las vegas next December! I wanna partake in the Running of the Elvi!

I’d love to make the Las Vegas one my first, but since the White Rock Marathon benefit’s Scottish Rite Hospital, where I had many a surgery as a kiddo, I’m more inclined to make it my first. Oh how I would love to run amongst 300 Elvi!
