Find time, find life.

“I dont have Time, I’m too Busy”

The only people that don’t have the time are the ones in the Obituraries… Re-prioritize & you will have the Time.

– Keith Bruni

Thanks Keith for posting this on Facebook.  So many people depend upon excuses to drift through life.  It’s easy to just settle and coast. Problem is, we were not meant to just get by.  We were created to excel and succeed.  We were meant for greater things. Don’t let your life slip by, with mediocrity.

Get off the couch. Get off your tush.  Get moving!

Oh yeah THAT’S why I don’t eat or drink that anymore!

Yesterday we ventured out to a benefit music festival at a great local venue – Jack’s Backyard.  A lot of old friends would be there, and ten bands were booked in order to raise money for some local no-kill animal shelters.  It was an awesome cause, and was sure to be a fun time.

It was so great to see everyone, and to hear the bands.  However with it being a scheduled rest day, I was a little less concerned with how I ate.  Normally this is not a big deal because I am usually at home.  Being out though gave more cullinary freedom, which in the end made me feel pretty yucky.

I ended up getting pretty dehydrated, and my stomach was pretty torn up.  I should have skipped the chips that came with my veggie burger, and drank more water.  Being out in the Texas summer heat can dehydrate you quicker than you think.  Also beer, no matter how watered down does NOT hydrate your body!

Next time I will request a veggie or fruit plate, and drink a lot more H2O!

My commitment

I started out on a weight loss program some months ago.  I was over-weight, and unhealthy.  I also just was not happy.  I mean I was happy to a degree, but I was coasting through life, without some true drive.  I had battled the bulge for years, but never stuck to healthy habits; it was always some fad thing that I was trying.  I finally got my act together, invested in a Bodybugg, and started to buy fresh and mostly organic foods.  I learned my food labels, and am continuing to learn which ingredients to avoid.  My body is way too important to just fill with crap!

For my exercise I just stated walking at lunch.  It was a way for me to get off my butt, and get away from the office.  It offered me a break in my workday, which was usually hectic and a bit stressful – something that is not good to the body and psyche in large doses.

Now for the obligatory before picture which was taken at Christmas time.

Rally the troops!

I used to blog quite often, some years ago, but sidelined it due to life events.  Now, it’s time to hop back on the horse and start writing again.  This is a journey I am sharing.  I have re-invented myself health wise and spiritually.  The new improved me wants to tell the world, “If I can do it you can too.”
