Wow you know I asked for no whammies, so instead I was given a doozy. I had every intention of running 12 miles; I even had it mapped out. Oh well nothing seems to go as planned!
My 12 mile ended up being more like a 14 mile run/walk. I started out okay, but kept feeling these weird stomach cramps, so a few more pit stops had to be added. I did not think that I veered THAT much off course, but evidently it happened!
My 12 mile run turned into a 14 mile suffer-fest. I ran out of gas pretty quickly, and took walking breaks on the way back to the house. I just wanted to finish! I was really feeling my legs turning to lead on the way back. My iPhone battery died during the second half of my run, so I was not aware of how many miles were being tacked on.
When I got home and looked online at mapmyrun, that’s when I discovered just how far I went.
THIS was the furthest I had even gone! My body is paying for it though. It will take a couple of days to recoup from this, but man… 14 freaking miles already!!
I did get a few photos on the first half of my run, but none on the way back. The battery life was slipping pretty quickly, so I had to use the bare minimum on my iPhone.
My favorite morning pit stop for water, bathroom breaks, Gatorade, and the occasional granola bar if needed.
